OMG, UK News Presenter Reportedly Died of AEFI Vaccine

Pangkalpinang swarakyatbabel.com — An award-winning BBC radio presenter has died from complications from AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine, a coroner has concluded.

Lisa Shaw, who worked for BBC Radio Newcastle, died at the city’s Royal Victoria Infirmary in May, a little more than three weeks after the first dose of a vaccine developed by academics at Oxford University.

The inquest heard that Shaw, 44, had been hospitalized after doctors investigating his headache found he had a brain haemorrhage.

Karen Dilks, senior coroner for Newcastle, provides the narrative conclusion. “Lisa died from complications from the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine,” he said.

Shaw, who was referred to by her surname, Lisa Eve, during the trial, began complaining of headaches a few days after the vaccination. He ended up visiting the A&E department of the hospital in Durham, where he was diagnosed with a blood clot.

He was transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary where he received a number of treatments, including cutting off part of his skull to relieve pressure on his brain, but despite these efforts he died on May 21.

Her husband, Gareth Eve, attended the examination with other family members.

Shaw’s death comes weeks after a UK vaccine advisory panel restricted use of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine to those over the age of 40, following rare reports of recipients developing unusual blood clots with low platelets. A number of other countries have imposed similar restrictions or suspended the use of vaccines completely.

Clot-related deaths are even rarer. There were 72 deaths in the UK after the first 24.8 million doses and 23.9 million second doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Dr Alison Cave, chief safety officer at the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency which approved the vaccine for use in the UK, said the benefits of a Covid jab outweigh the risks and urged people to come forward for vaccinations if they qualify. He said: “Lisa Shaw’s death is tragic and our thoughts are with her family.

“As with any suspected serious adverse event, death reports were evaluated by us, including detailed post-mortem assessments where available. We will review the coroner’s ruling.”

Tuomo Polvikoski, a pathologist, told coroner Shaw was fit and healthy before receiving the vaccine. Asked about the underlying cause of the fatal clot in his brain, he said the clinical evidence “strongly supports the idea that it is indeed vaccine-induced”.

“Based on the available clinical information, that seems to be the most likely explanation,” he said.

The family issued a statement, which read: “This is another difficult day in a devastating time for us. The death of our beloved Lisa has left a terrible void in our families and lives.

“She was truly the most incredible wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. We have said everything we wanted to say publicly at this time and asked to be left alone to grieve and rebuild our lives privately. Thank you.” (*)
